"City of Dreams, A Guide to Port Townsend,"
edited by Peter Simpson, available through
ABEBooks.com and
Amazon.com.
An invaluable work for anyone interested in the
town, "City of Dreams" provides a detailed history, genealogy and anecdotes
about the town and some of her most famous residents.
-
"The Wharf at Port Townsend Bay," by Calmar
A. McCune, available through
Amazon.com.
An interesting fictional story, about
an
1869 Makah whale hunt that leads to the discovery of a derelict sailing ship
with 400 dead on board. The story then skips ahead to the year 2008, and the
investigation by a vacationing FBI agent of mysterious killings of faculty at
Port Townsend schools, and how both events tie together.
-
“Halcyon Days in Port
Townsend,” by C. H. Hanford, available through
ABEBooks.com.
Labeled as
a novel, but mostly historical in nature. Excellent resource for the city
in her early days.
-
"A Brief Historical Sketch of Port
Townsend, Washington," by William D. Welsh, available through
ABEBooks.com.
Traces the highlights and development of
the "Key City of Puget Sound." Another good historical reference.
