Over fifteen years experience in providing administrative and technical support to a variety of military and civilian customers both in the military and civilian sectors, including executive-level support to general and staff officers.  Excellent communications skills, and skilled at coordinating and managing individuals and teams for short-range goals or long-term projects. Extensive technical experience in information and computer systems, with a proven high level of proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Front Page, Access, Outlook, LotusNotes, JetForm FormFlow, Netscape Communicator, Internet Explorer, Allaire HomeSite, Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat and Adobe PhotoShop.  A gifted artist, having produced an extensive portfolio in diverse media; ranging from charcoal and pencil to detailed computer graphics.  As well, a talented HTML site developer and manager, having built several websites and attendant graphics for personal and non-profit groups, in addition to coding company corporate and retail web sites.

WORK EXPERIENCE

 

Hall Equities Group (Walnut Creek, CA)

Executive Assistant, Special Project Administrator, and Webmaster

July 2001 – Present

 

Provides a full range of professional and highly confidential administrative support to the President & CEO, the Vice-President, two Special Project Managers, and other members of the internal team, which includes the coordination and management of executive calendars, events and presentations, coordination of travel arrangements including detailed itineraries and logistical planning, and extensive on-line research and statistical analysis of market trends..  Designs web- and media graphics for print ads, banner ads, flyers and on-line sales efforts, including corporate identity logos and presentation materials for national trade shows, and developed from scratch a sales-effort website, designed at selling retail condominiums to first-time homebuyers, as well as updating and maintaining the corporate website. 

 

Kaiser Permanente (Oakland, CA)

Contractor

February 2001 – July 2001

 

Executive-level assistant to the implementation lead for IT Finance at Kaiser Permanente, and in this position responsible for all levels of support.  Assisted the IT budget office in preparation, tracking, and final pay-out of IT-related contractor and equipment invoices, as well as assisting the IT Finance web development team with the construction of an internal web site, to include such tasks as HTML development and graphics design.

 

Payroll Resource Group (PRG) (San Francisco, CA)

Payroll Technician

August 2000 – February 2001

 

Responsible for the timely and accurate entry of employee and client data, taxation rates, and deduction information for 365 employees in 19 companies, as well as acting as a customer liaison between those companies and PRG.  Assisted in the conversion from PayPlus, a UNIX-based payroll system, to UltiPro, a Citrix-based payroll system and web interface.  Also responsible for the installation and maintenance of 14 personal computers and associated software suites. 

                       

United States Air Force (Last Duty Station – Oakland , CA)

Information Manager/Computer Specialist

September 1984 – July 2000

 

During a long and distinguished career in the United States Military, was responsible for a wide variety of administrative and computer-related duties.  These included:

  • Administrating and tracking, quality checking and maintaining security and accountability of over 53,000 Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) tests, Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB) tests, and Air Force Officer Qualification (AFOQT) tests for the Oakland Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), a multi-service training and processing installation.

  • Assisting with the installation and management of an 18-terminal Novell network and the associated server, used to administer Computer Aided Testing for the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (CAT-ASVAB) program, in addition to assisting with both software and hardware upgrades necessary to bring the CAT-ASVAB system in line with Department of Defense Y2K compliance guidelines.

  • Acting as the assistant small computer manager, responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the MEPS LAN, as well as complete desktop support for 35 employees.

  • Supervising an office of five military and three civilian employees, which included coordinating schedules to accommodate ever-changing testing requirements, as well as ensuring on-going training was successfully accomplished in a timely manner. 

  • Providing superior administrative and computer support to 78 military and civilian employees, including executive administrative support to a squadron commander (colonel) and vice-commander (civilian GS-15).

  • As a squadron special projects manager, led the team assigned the key task of designing a new squadron heraldic symbol, as well as coordinating the efforts of a team charged with successfully developing a squadron mission brochure. This booklet was the key factor in the unit winning the 1994 Air Force Supply Effectiveness Award (Best in the Air Force).
