My design philosophy is to keep pages as simple and clean as possible.  Flash and Java, while interesting tools, I feel are largely unnecessary in presenting content.  Pages should be fast loading with a minimum of clutter.  This is not to say that page design should be uninteresting or dull - simply secondary to the product you are selling or the information you are trying to put across.
